The L&D manager develops and implements learning strategies, designs e-learning courses, and oversees the training budgets.
This person will assess development needs, deliver training, and evaluate effectiveness, and throughout keep the learning database up to date.Duties & ResponsibilitiesDeveloping and implementing learning strategies and programmesConducting regular and thorough skills auditsDesign and keep up to date, the onboarding initiativesAssist with delivering staff inductionsAdministering regular, detailed needs assessments to identify skills deficitsKeep learning database of employees' qualifications and skills up to datePlanning, directing and delivering training and development programmes in line with the outcome of the skills auditDesign training courses and programmes necessary to meet training needs and the skills gaps identified, or manage this activity via external service providersAddressing skills deficits through tailored in-house trainingCreating and facilitating training programmes, incl.
short courses or leadership programmes for senior managementDesign e-learning courses, assessments and workshopsCoordinating external training as the need arisesEnsuring that all learning and development initiatives are within budget and that the budget is fully utilisedCoordinate and manage the learnership, internship and apprenticeship interventions where necessaryPromoting an open knowledge-sharing environment that builds knowledge, skills and service for the benefit of the organisation as a wholeThe role of the learning and development manager is to fundamentally assist in the organisation's success, by coaching and developing its people.Actively work with the HR team on the development plans identified through the succession plans, and talent pipelineAssist in building employer branding initiativesResearch L&D trends to improveMaintain records of all documentation used for training, including attendance registers, evaluation forms and related paperworkOversee the training departmentSubmit monthly and quarterly reports, or as and when needed
