LEAD QC INSPECTOR (Limited Duration Contract)Main Purpose: To manage resources, equipment, fabrication activities, own Inspections and maintain a high level of quality.Key Performance Areas:Ensure that all resources meet the contract criteria and requirements.Maintain a live database of all contract workers and valid qualifications.Ensure that resources have adequate training on the QMS, client, and code requirements.Ensure that personnel are placed on time and supplied within the required timeframe.Ensure that personnel qualifications and approvals are up to date.Ensure that all equipment used is maintained and calibrations are up to date.Manage suppliers' compliance with the relevant quality requirements and ensure the input of quality requirements to the placement of orders.Ensure that personnel are productive, distributed according to the workload, and meet all the quality requirements of the project.Manage all quality-related risks on the project.Assist the project team during planning and execution phases.Assist QC Inspectors with related issues.Ensure that QC Inspectors undergo departmental induction training.Monitor and ensure that final Data Books are completed within 7 days after the completion of manufacturing.Inform personnel and the fabrication team of work-related risks during manufacturing.Instruct and coach QC Inspectors in best practices and adherence to procedures.Monitor and ensure that the close-out of all nonconformities is completed within 5 days.Maintain customer relationships and satisfaction.Monthly reports to be submitted to the Group Quality Manager/Workshop Manager by the end of each month, covering feedback on all areas of responsibility.Any other job-related duties as required from time to time.Ability to solve and resolve problems and take initiative.Ability to work according to procedures and specifications.Ability to take responsibility and monitor progress.Ability to work independently.Ability to work under pressure.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to build and maintain relationships.Excellent planning and organizational skills.Good people management and interpersonal skills.Preferred Requirements:Grade 12/N3.SAIW Level 2 Welding and Fabrication Inspector.MT and PT Level 2 qualifications would be advantageous.10 years related experience in a manufacturing environment.8 years related experience in HP Heater manufacturing, Header and Tube Sheet Type.Knowledge and ability to compile procedures, methodologies, and instructions.NDT techniques and/or methods.Knowledge of different manufacturing methodologies.Welding procedures and processes.Material types and grades.Codes, standards, and specifications (EN, ISO, ASME, AWS, TRD, Eskom, and Sasol specifications).HP HeatersEN/ISO 13445TEMAHeat Treatment techniques, methods, and behavior of materials.Welding consumables (types and control methods).Welding controls and defects.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
