Lead Mechanical Engineer (Armored Vehicles)This is a leading innovator in the defense industry, specializing in the design and manufacture of advanced armored vehicles.We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will lead the mechanical design efforts for our armored vehicle projects, driving innovation and ensuring the highest standards of quality and performance.Key Responsibilities:Design Leadership: Lead the mechanical design and development of armored vehicles, from concept through to production. Oversee design processes, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and performance requirements.Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of mechanical engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project execution.Innovation: Drive the development of new technologies and design solutions to enhance vehicle performance, protection, and reliability.Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, electrical engineers, and project managers, to integrate mechanical design with other vehicle systems.Quality Assurance: Ensure designs meet all regulatory and safety standards, conducting thorough reviews and testing to validate design performance.Problem Solving: Address and resolve complex technical issues that arise during the design, prototyping, and production phases.Documentation: Maintain comprehensive design documentation and provide detailed reports and presentations to stakeholders.Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master's Degree or higher qualification is advantageous.Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, with a proven track record in designing armored or military vehicles.Skills:Expertise in mechanical design and engineering principles, including materials, structures, and dynamics.Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, or AutoCAD).Strong understanding of armor technology and vehicle protection systems.Experience with simulation and analysis tools.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Leadership: Demonstrated experience in leading engineering teams and managing complex projects.Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances, if required.Please send your CV to ******
