Reporting directly to the: Executive Manager: Water and Sanitation - East LondonSkills & Experience Required:Eng. / BTech (Civil) or equivalent accepted by the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA)Professionally registered with ECSA as a Pr Eng / Pr Tech EngAt least 10 years' relevant experience in the consulting industryMandatory for majority of experience to be in project management and construction monitoring of water infrastructure projectsExtensive experience in the use of FIDIC and GCCCompetency in using MS Project and MS Office suiteAdvantageous experience / skills:NECUse of Civil 3D and/or Civil Designer and other relevant design packagesPreliminary and detailed design for urban and rural water reticulation systems, pump stations rising mains and reservoirsPreliminary and detailed design for urban and rural sewer reticulation systems, outfalls, pump stations and rising mainsFeasibility studies, business plansClient liaisonTender and contract document preparationSpecial Requirements:Ability to travel locally and internationally if requiredJob Responsibilities:Management of projects and monitoring of performance and profitabilityContract administration and inspection as well as construction monitoring, as necessary and management of site staffCarry out site inspections and other assigned construction monitoring activities in accordance with the Company's QualityManagement System's requirements as set out in the applicable work instructions and checklistsAttend meetings and write notes and reportsProduce progress reportsCarry out research, compile relevant data, evaluation of the technical and financial aspects, complete with cost estimates and budget quotations for civil engineering proposalsManage Engineers, Technologists, Technicians and site staff throughout the planning, design, tender, Implementation and close out stages of various water and sanitation projectsConduct research and carry out feasibility studiesPrepare business plans for submission and approval by DWS, MIG and other relevant funding organisationsSupervising the production of technical drawings, designs and reports as directedPrepare tender and contract documents including detailed specifications, special conditions of contract and bill of quantitiesCheck all drawings, designs, reports and documents produced in accordance with the Company's Quality Management SystemManage tender processes, conduct tender evaluations and report to the clientThe Engineer shall report directly to the Executive Manager: Water and Sanitation-East LondonManagement of staff and mentoring of graduate engineers, technologists and technicians Should you wish to apply please submit your CV through for consideration.Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
