Duties:Analyzing all inbound solvents materials for qualitative and quantitative properties using various Laboratory instrumentation.Ensuring that all routine tests required by Group standards are processed and documented accordinglyImplement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of chemical analysis.Ensure that all the Laboratory instrumentation and facilities are calibrated and maintained.Maintaining laboratory management system for quality, administrative and technical operationsLiaising with accredited laboratories to fulfill the Municipal by-law requirements.Ensuring compliance by controlling safety requirements on the operation of the laboratory.Liaising with internal customers and suppliers to ensure that the quality, cost and schedule standards of materials are adhered to.Planning, implementing and controlling new work instructions and procedures, for new test methods requiredCoordinating and maintaining all technical and safety data sheets for materials used in the Paint Shop environment.Qualifications:National Diploma Chemistry or relevant Engineering qualificationExperience needed:3 - 5 years experience in chemical analyses, including sample preparation, instrument operation, and data interpretationEssential:Good Understanding of Chemical Compliance Management and guiding regulationsSound technical knowledge of laboratory protocols, testing standards and ISO 17025Proven analytical and innovative approach to qualitative and quantitative analysis of products and line problemsComputer skills (Windows, MS Office)Ability to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to work under pressure and be self-motivatedSound communication skills and an ability to communicate at all levels
