THIS ROLE IS BASED IN NIGERIA, WEST AFRICA DO NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE NOT ALREADY AFRICA BASED OR WILLING TO BE BASED IN AFRICA Candidate Profile: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or relevant similar field 6+ years professional experience in Network Infrastructure roles Possessing professional certifications in network and server management Strong hands-on experience with virtualisation, backup and storage, and network technology and protocols Key Responsibilities: The Network Infrastructure Engineer will need to lead technical support to the development of the infrastructure systems and services Define, order, and monitor installation and integration of hardware in the network, including routers, switches, servers, power systems, and cables Plan, design, and deploy networks Specify, test, and deploy new or enhanced servers, including applications and software services. Carry out troubleshooting of servers and decide on prioritization during service breakdowns and partake in detailed research to determine the sources and resolve them Support the existing LAN/WAN network environment and monitor routers, switches, and wireless infrastructure, making recommendations for updates where necessary. Ensure operations workflows and server maintenance plans are working effectively, and suggest best practices Continuously aid the improvement of performance, security system, and availability of systems and dependent ecosystems. Ensure that mission critical and high availability systems are running at optimum capacity, with appropriate data backup, storage and recovery processes and practices in place. Create and maintain technical documentation of the systems. Manage switching, routing, firewalls, LANs, WLANs, TCP/IP, VPNs, and VoIP Solid skills with virtualisation protocols and technologies such as VMware, Citrix, HyperV, and/or similar
