Company Group Technology is responsible for the provision of a digitally enabled technology service as a group COE, drive business and transformation and provide group-wide digital and data architecture. They operate the various technology platforms and shared services, ensure Cyber and Information Security resilience, and act as technology governance and risk orchestrator for technology across Company.
What will you do?
This is a technical Kafka Event Management support job. This is for an Individual with Linux Certification and Integration and DEVSECOPS experience and some Coding background. Operational support is key and Standby and after-hours support will be expected. Manage and maintain Kafka Event Management platforms to ensure stability and continued high performance of said platforms and applications deployed thereon. Assist in implementing, managing and configuration of environment, platform, and application monitoring. Assisting in the constant automation and configuration of the Kafka and surrounding environments. Participate in continual investigation into best practices, methodologies and tooling for deployment, DevOps, monitoring, release and configuration management and all other relevant disciplines.
Documentation of the investigation is compulsory. Work with Linux advance implementations as well as hardware configured environments. Ensure that tooling and platform obsolesce is avoided and managed in the form of roadmaps, patches, and upgrades. Facilitate the automation of area's this person will be involved as the workload is growing and the toolsets is also getting more – key is to automate as much what make sense and use proper rules to ensure it is a clean and secure implementation.
What will make you successful in this role?
The following would assist a successful candidate:
- Application platform, maintenance, implementation, and configuration of the following (or similar):
Linux advance user with Certification started.
RedHat JBoss EAP (or Wildfly)
Kafka working knowledge and at least 2 years' experience.
Kubernetes and Rancher experience
Understand the concept of integration of web-based services and practical use of APIs, REST and SOAP services.
Understand conceptual makeup of the SDLC and, with regards to the implementation phase, the change in responsibilities based on level of agility.
Exposure to Infrastructure/Application configuration management tooling including the following (or similar) is advisable:
Ansible
Chef
Puppet
Foreman
Rundeck
Redis (cache)
Graylog
Harbor
Understanding of relationships and integration between host, operating system, platform and application layers. Knowledge of integration between application touch-points such as directory services (ie LDAP), databases, load balancers and reverse-proxies are also beneficial. Exposure to containerization concepts and technology such as the following:
Docker (Swarm)
Kubernetes operations & administration

Experience
2-5 years in the field of Information Technology
2-5 years runtime operations support in some form
