An established, but rapidly expanding transport and logistics business based in Bellville, Cape Town is seeking to employ a talented and driven Junior Transport & Logistics Operations Manager to join this dynamic and cutting-edge business on a permanent basis.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about logistics, transportation, and operations management. The Junior Transport Operations Manager will work closely with senior management to oversee and optimize the transportation operations, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities Planning and Optimization: Collaborate with the operations team to plan and optimize loads, considering factors such as distance, traffic, and delivery schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.Supplier Management: Work closely with the suppliers and build relationships to ensure service levels are achieved.Performance Monitoring: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to transportation operations, such as on-time delivery, on-time arrival, turnaround times, etc. Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimize performance.Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all suppliers comply with the required standards and that insurance documentation is in order.Customer Service: Attend to customer complaints and inquiries, resolve delivery issues, and provide exceptional service to customers.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction within the transportation operations. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.Previous experience in transportation, logistics, or operations management is preferred but not required.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and transportation management software.Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements is a plus.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a strong sense of urgency and accountability.Salary – R30000 to R40000 basic salary per month, dependent on skills and experience.
