Junior Transport & Logistics Operations ManagerLocation: Cape TownRef: LRP24025Type: PermanentAn established, but rapidly expanding transport and logistics business based in Bellville, Cape Town is seeking to employ a talented and driven Junior Transport & Logistics Operations Manager to join this dynamic and cutting-edge business on a permanent basis.This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about logistics, transportation, and operations management. The Junior Transport Operations Manager will work closely with senior management to oversee and optimize the transportation operations, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to safety standards.ResponsibilitiesPlanning and Optimization: Collaborate with the operations team to plan and optimize loads, considering factors such as distance, traffic, and delivery schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.Supplier Management: Work closely with the suppliers and build relationships to ensure service levels are achieved.Performance Monitoring: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to transportation operations, such as on-time delivery, on-time arrival, turnaround times, etc. Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimize performance.Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all suppliers comply with the required standards and that insurance documentation is in order.Customer Service: Attend to customer complaints and inquiries, resolve delivery issues, and provide exceptional service to customers.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction within the transportation operations.
