Junior Quantity Surveyor

Our reputable Construction client is seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in Johannesburg CBD. Purpose of the job- Quantity surveyors in essence work with the cost analysis of the building projects. The quantity surveyor executes cost analysis based on the architectural drawings, engineering estimates and materials required as well as the labour involved Salary:Market RelatedAfter 3 months medical aid (optional). Requirements:A driver's license with own reliable vehicleMatricOHS Act, Construction Regulations.Degree / Diploma in Construction Management / Quantity Surveyor/ ArtisanshipMinimum- legal Accountability/SHE Management (would be ideal)Minimum- OHS Act, Construction Regulations1-2 years' experience as a Junior Quantity Surveyor 2-3 years experience within the construction industryMust be proficient in Microsoft1-2 years using Build Smart and CCS CandyPhysical Fitness-Must be able to move freely Key Performance Areas- Surveyors seek to minimize the construction costs and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality. Responsibilities:Establish cost control methods with the Contract Manager.Liaise with senior QS to determine industry/company best practices.Liaise with the client's QS representative, subcontractors, suppliers, prepare and agree value variations.Ensure that the preparation of valuation and issue of interim certificates enable punctual payment.Ensure that subcontract orders are placed in accordance with the requirements of the procurement schedule.Monitor and update contract turnover and cash flow forecasts as required.Cross-check material deliveries against site measurements.Performs other related duties as assigned.  Please take note: if you have not been contacted within 14 days, please consider your application unsuccessful
