Our Client is looking for Junior Pastry Chef to join their teamArea: Franchoek, Cape TownPosition Overview: As a Junior Pastry Chef, you will assist the Head Pastry Chef and Pastry Chef in preparing and executing a range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods. You will be responsible for producing high-quality confections, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the pastry kitchen, and supporting the overall operation of the pastry department. This role is ideal for a creative and detail-oriented individual looking to grow their career in the world of pastry arts.Key ResponsibilitiesPastry Production: Assist in the preparation and production of a variety of pastries, cakes, desserts, and other baked goods. Follow recipes and techniques to ensure consistency and quality.Creativity & Innovation: Contribute to the development of new pastry items and dessert concepts. Bring creativity and a fresh perspective to the dessert menu.Quality Control: Monitor and maintain the quality and presentation of all pastry items. Ensure that all products meet the restaurant's high standards.Kitchen Hygiene: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including adherence to food safety and sanitation standards. Properly store ingredients and manage inventory.Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all pastry equipment is used properly and maintained in good working order. Report any maintenance issues to the Head Pastry Chef.Collaboration: Work closely with the Head Pastry Chef and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operation. Communicate effectively to coordinate tasks and support team objectives.QualificationsExperience: At least 1-2 years of experience in a professional pastry kitchen or bakery. Experience with various pastry techniques and baking methods is preferred.Skills: Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, baking, and dessert presentation. Attention to detail and the ability to follow recipes accurately.Education: Culinary diploma with a focus on pastry arts or equivalent professional training is preferred but not required.Attributes: Creative flair with a passion for pastry and baking.
