Role Summary:
The Junior Manager/Team Leader is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring smooth project execution, effective people management, and adherence to quality standards. The role demands strong leadership, excellent communication, and organisational skills. The Junior Manager will oversee team performance, manage resources efficiently, and make use of AI.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Plan, execute, and oversee both short-term and long-term projects.
Ensure deadlines are met and resources are optimally allocated.
Comfortable using project management tools (e.g., spreadsheets).
People Management:
Manage a team, providing guidance, performance reviews, and development opportunities.
Ensure clear and consistent communication within the team.
Lead team meetings, distribute tasks, and monitor progress.
Quality Assurance:
Implement quality control measures to ensure high standards in all team deliverables.
Regularly review team performance to identify areas for improvement.
AI Utilization:
Make use of AI on a daily basis
Day-to-Day Operations:
Oversee the daily functions of the department, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently.
Manage administrative tasks, including scheduling, reporting, and email correspondence.
Communication and Problem-Solving:
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in email writing and phone interactions.
Act as a key point of contact between the department and other teams.
Address challenges with effective problem-solving strategies.
Organisational and Time Management:
Prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
Ensure team members are aligned with department goals and timelines.
Professional Behaviour and Interpersonal Skills:
Exhibit professional behaviour, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
Use strong interpersonal skills to build team morale and resolve conflicts.
Provide support and instruction to team members, fostering their growth.
Technology and Computer Literacy:
Ensure high proficiency in using computers, particularly for administrative work, including document creation, emails, and project tracking.
Possess good typing skills and the ability to handle basic IT tasks.
Qualifications and Skills:
At least Matric or Matric equivalent
Any education qualification is an added advantage
1+ years of people management experience.
Proven project management skills, with experience using project management tools (e.g., Google Sheets Google Docs, etc.).
Exposure to AI tools in a work environment.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with an emphasis on quality control.
Excellent communication, leadership, and people management skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects while maintaining high levels of quality and efficiency.
