Junior Financial Manager

Our client, based in Cape Town CBD, is looking for an ambitious, driven Junior Financial Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the finance team, managing finance staff and reporting to the Head of Finance.Responsibilities include:Performing all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations, and overhead cost allocationPreparing Management accounts, Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Trial BalanceManaging the day-to-day accounting activitiesPreparing financial reportsVAT / EMP 201 returns and other statutory/regulatory submissionsAssisting with the development of financial controls, financial policies, procedures and guidelines, risk assessment, and management to ensure that financial risks are identified and addressedPreparing and reviewing monthly payroll calculations and other ad-hoc duties as requiredPreparing annual audit documentation for an external audit firm, including closing off, and liaising with auditorsAssisting with preparing capital raise documentation/due diligenceManaging and overseeing junior staff members, including, training, mentoring, and development of staffRequirements:3 + years Financial Management or 5 + years Senior Financial Accountant experienceAdvanced computer skills on MS Office (Excel, etc.), accounting software and databasesRelevant financial qualificationsSAIPA qualification or completed SAICA articles will be beneficialHigh attention to detail and accuracyIdeally coming from a hospitality or property background
