Job Details

As Junior Finance Manager for the Group, you will assist the Head of Finance with financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance for the local and international entities.
Duties and Responsibilities Perform a full function of financial management duties including preparing monthly management accounts, preparing tax returns, bank reconciliations, generating financial data, compiling and submitting reports, and assessing the financial health of the company.Oversee the operations and development of the company's finance departments including creating and reviewing policies, budgeting, recruiting, training, and conducting regular assessments of financial procedures, processes, and control.Prepare monthly and annual account reconciliations, monitor and enforce compliance with tax and financial reporting standards, and assist with cash flow forecasting.Advise colleagues and executive management on decisions related to the company's finances.Supervise the documentation of the company's financial status and forecasts.Manage year-end audits and review company financial statements.Manage various other small audits, such as for SARS, banks, royalties, BEE, and so on.Requirements Proven knowledge of financial analysis and strategy.Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.In-depth knowledge of financial reporting standards, tax regulations, and industry legislation.Analytical skills.Attention to detail.Interpersonal skills.Negotiation skills.Education: Preferred Honours Degree holders / bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business studies, or a related field (e.g., BCom with Honours and completed articles).Qualified as CA (SA) Strong Preference.Minimum Requirements: Demonstrates understanding of all facets of business operations and interactions, a sound working knowledge of financial management, numeracy, and attention to detail.Strong understanding and application of SA income tax, VAT, and other tax legislations.High level of computer literacy (including MS Office / Excel). Working experience in a financial environment; knowledge of online computer applications.Demonstrates ability to prioritize and plan work, handle a diversity of tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines consistently, manage projects, and cope under pressure.The ideal candidate has experience collaborating and/or managing a team of Accountants and Junior Accountants.Demonstrates commitment to teamwork, service, integrity, and confidentiality.Decisive and assertive with the capability to build/maintain professional relationships.Sound working knowledge of accounting practices coupled with the ability to write advanced macros and produce high-level spreadsheets and financial modeling.Basic SQL experience would be beneficial.
