We have a client of ours looking for a junior field engineer / field engineer for their JHB and lowveld regions.They are looking for someone who is qualified in either one or more of the following :Cisco (CCNA , CCNP, etc)Meraki40 (gate ,net ,etc)RuckasJuniper Duties and ResponsibilitiesBeing responsible for maintaining strong client satisfaction metrics in relation to the projects, service level agreements and general interactions with the client, where these are delivered and managed by the various divisions within the company and its subsidiaries.Being aware of and assisting with the coordination of client engagements and interactions by the associated Managed Service Centre and Professional Services teams.Responding to any faults reported to the service desk for the region and ensuring that these are completed in accordance with the client SLA.Basic network tasks (housekeeping) and preventative maintenance.Report generation as defined by the relevant SLA, or as these pertain to specific scopes of work.Travel to selected client branches to assist with audits, installations and to complete general networking tasks.Ensuring best practice recommendations are adhered to and raise breaches to the regional office should the design not comply with the standard.Adhering to all company and customer processes and procedures as defined and amended from time.Configure and prep network equipment for deploymentEvaluate and troubleshoot connectivity issues within the various LAN/WAN technologies Routing, Switching and Access Points (Cisco, Aruba, and Meraki)Provide a detailed report after each deployment, installation, site visit or network incident.Adhere to customer SLAs to ensure end-user expectations are metTake ownership and responsibility of an issues from start through to successful resolution.Preform escalations to customers, 3rd parties, Level 3 Engineers as well as management.Maintain network topology diagrams upon change.Routine device configuration backupsVendor firmware upgradesMaintaining network asset lists and lifecycle reportPerform wireless heatmap surveysCabinet Audits and BlowoutsDR failover testingWAN failover testingMSP ticketing and time keepingMaintain monthly report targets are met for the regionHardware failure dispatchBi-weekly standby for the regionPlease note due to the high volume of responses, only candidates that meet the advertised criteria will be contacted.
