Mission: The purpose of the Junior Electronic Design Engineer is to play a pivotal role in developing Collision Awareness/Avoidance Systems (CxS), ensuring adherence to industry standards. Tasks encompass assisting in embedded and electronic applications development, supporting product maintenance, requirements management, implementation, testing, and compliance efforts under senior engineers' guidance. This role fosters innovation and efficiency within our electronic systems development.
Main Responsibilities or Functions of Job: Electronic Systems Design and Development: Assist with design and development of Mernok's current and future Collision Awareness/Avoidance Systems (CxS), ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices. Assists in developing robust embedded applications for microcontrollers/microprocessors within control systems, employing cutting-edge technologies to meet performance and reliability requirements. Assist with the design of electronic applications from schematic capture to test, employing advanced engineering practices to meet rigorous requirements and standards. Product Support and Maintenance: Support and maintain existing and new product designs, including software updates, PCB revisions, and documentation generation, to ensure product reliability and longevity. Implement electronic designs across hardware, firmware, and software layers, ensuring seamless integration and functionality. Help production and technical teams as needed, ensuring high-quality product delivery and customer satisfaction. Help clients as needed, ensuring customer satisfaction. Requirements Management and Simulation: Assist with deriving and managing requirements at the board or chip level and considering system aspects such as noise and power distribution for optimal performance. Perform simulations at various levels and conduct system safety analyses to identify and mitigate potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards. Review and validate the choice of components to meet performance, reliability, and safety requirements. Testing, Verification, and Compliance: Conduct thorough hardware testing and implement necessary corrections to meet design specifications and quality standards. Ensure that external interfaces align with specifications, including voltage levels and timing requirements, for seamless integration with other systems. Ensure electronic assemblies are manufactured to acceptable standards, verifying quality and reliability. Oversee testing at various system and subsystem levels, ensuring all requirements are adequately verified and documented. Review and evaluate changes to electronic designs, assessing impacts and obtaining necessary approvals to maintain product integrity. Documentation and Build Management: Generate comprehensive production data packs and product support documentation to facilitate effective product assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Provide official builds for formal programming and testing, ensuring consistency and reliability in product releases. Configuration Management: Establish and maintain development and supporting processes, including Configuration Management and ESD protocols, to ensure compliance and traceability. Learning and Growth: Participate in activities as described in Personal Development Plan, as agreed with the Engineering Manager. Facilitate knowledge sharing and skills development processes (best practice, lessons learnt, etc.). Health, Safety & Environment: Take responsibility for your own safety in the workplace. Ensure that your immediate work area is safe and that you report all incidents and near misses. Comply to all health, safety and environmental rules and requirements as set by the Company. Sustainability Goals: Acquaint yourself with the sustainability targets and goals as set by the Company from time to time. Support the Company in achieving the targets and goals. Education and Experience: Experience: Beginner experience required in firmware, hardware, or software design. (0 - 2 Years) Intermediate experience is required in demonstrating problem-solving abilities honed through practical experience, including the proven capacity to tackle complex challenges inherent in software development, devise innovative and effective solutions, and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes. Specialist experience is required in effective communication and collaboration, encompassing the ability to articulate ideas clearly, listen to feedback constructively, and work cohesively with team members across different disciplines to achieve project goals. Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in electronic engineering, computer science or a related field is required. Coursework in electronics, circuit theory, digital systems, and signal processing is essential.
