Junior BI DeveloperManaged Talent Solutions, a division within Datacentrix, is looking for a Junior BI Developer for one of their clients based in Johannesburg. The Junior BI Developer will be required to assist with turning raw data into meaningful insights for the business through designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions. You must have +2 years experience in report and dashboard development, database and semantic model development using technologies such as DAX for Power BI Measures, Data sources, and PowerBI components.Qualifications and Skills Required:Matric plus Diploma in Computer Science / Information Technology or related fieldMicrosoft certification PL300 - Power BI Data Analyst AssociateMicrosoft certification DP900 - Microsoft Azure Data FundamentalsKnowledge in Dimensional semantic model design principles (Star schema)Knowledge in DAX for Power BI MeasuresKnowledge in PowerBI components (Power Query, modelling, report visualisation)Knowledge in PowerBI online components (App, Access, Management)Knowledge in Data sources (SQL Server, flat files, Dynamics D365)Responsibilities:Extract and transform data from the system and use ETL processes to prepare data for analysis.Work with databases to store and retrieve data efficiently, and write and optimise SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation.Develop semantic models using SQL queries and views.Create reports and dashboards to visualise and communicate the results or insights effectively.Create reports and dashboards that enhance user experience.Migrate reports across workspaces.Work closely with business analysts or business users to understand data requirements and turn these requirements into BI solutions.Troubleshoot BI solutions and provide support to end-users to address data discrepancies (level 0 support).Troubleshoot report errors (data errors, incorrect calculations, missing values, etc.).Document and manage BI initiatives on Azure DevOps on a regular basis.Document data models, processes, and BI solutions for future reference and effective knowledge transfer.
