Junior Accountant
The Junior Accountant will assist in managing the financial operations of the hospital. This role involves performing various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy in financial records, and supporting the finance team in maintaining the financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, basic accounting knowledge, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
KEY WORK OUTPUT AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Financial Record Keeping:

Maintain and update financial records, including general ledger entries, invoices, and receipts.
Ensure all financial data is accurate and properly documented.


Accounts Payable and Receivable:

Assist in processing accounts payable and receivable transactions.
Verify and reconcile invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors.
Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables.


Bank Reconciliations:

Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.


Financial Reporting:

Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Support the senior accountant in generating financial statements and reports for management review.


Payroll Processing:

Assist in processing payroll, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
Maintain payroll records and address any payroll-related inquiries.


Budgeting and Forecasting:

Support the finance team in budgeting and forecasting activities.
Assist in monitoring budget performance and variance analysis.


Compliance and Audits:

Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.


Miscellaneous Tasks:

Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned by the senior accountant or finance manager.
Provide support during financial audits and other financial projects.



Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
1-2 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
