As a Junior Production Specialist in South Africa, you will play a key role in the execution of seed productions of multiple crops whereby Onions are the main crop, advising 3rd party growers and farmers to ensure optimal conditions and yields. In this position you will report to the Regional Production Lead based in Oudshoorn.Your power· Support the execution and monitoring of operational activities to ensure the production orders are executed according to plan and the best adherence to plan is achieved.· Contribute to the operational management of suppliers through weekly and monthly following of crop management, review of crop results and reportingSupport in advising and aligning on crop treatments to obtain maximum quality and planned quantity. Supporting that all phytosanitary and quality protocols are followed and all certifications and administration performed timely.· Support the production specialist with the Latest Estimates (LE) regarding running productions in the Enza ERP system and where required in the planning system (in alignment with the Production Planner).· Support the production planning processes for multiple crops to ensure correct and optimal production data and parameters in the systems (e.g. ProfiApp, ERP system, planning system).Your strength Your affinity and experience with plants are of great value. Your love for plants, agronomic curiosity and adeptness at "reading plants" empowers you to develop in detecting crop issues and implement essential actions and communication to growers. You like to learn to maintain a good overview and also improve your planning and organizing skills. You are enthusiastic to develop in international interactions with colleagues and producers, whereby you learn to be adaptable and tailor your approach to diverse cultures and local conditions.In short, you:Have a Bachelor's degree in Plant Sciences or (International) Agribusiness Studies;Have 1 to 2 years experience in agribusiness and/or (vegetable) seed cultivation;Have a passion for plants and an eye for plant-related pests and diseases;Have excellent communication skills in the English language;Are analytical and solution-oriented;Are willing to travel (within and sometimes outside of South Africa);Have a valid driver's license.Our powerOur strength Enza Zaden is a vegetable breeding company dedicated to the development of various vegetable varieties.
