CRITICAL PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
Accompanying senior staff on visits to clients on budgetary enquiries.
Involvement with tender activities which will include reading and understanding tender enquiries and understanding conceptual and basic designs.
Assistance with generating tender documentation such as P&ID's, equipment lists, vessel datasheets, preliminary plant layouts, datasheets for rotating equipment and assistance with costing of mechanical equipment.
Assistance with process design on projects by reviewing the client's specifications, preparation of design documents such as P&ID's, PFD's, mass and energy balances, process description, operating manuals, etc.
Generating equipment datasheets and technical adjudication of vendor equipment for procurement.
Attendance of HAZOP's and design reviews and all project engineering activities as required by the project schedule and scope of work.
Involvement with commissioning activities including commissioning plans, checking out plant vs P&ID's, involvement with training, cold & hot commissioning, performance testing and running in of equipment.
Involvement with and overseeing R&D testwork campaigns in our in-house laboratory.
All administration functions as determined by the company.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
Chemical Engineering degree (University graduates only)
At least five years relevant process design experience on projects.
The successful candidate must be a fast learner, able to work with little supervision.
Take ownership of both their work and professional development.
Computer literacy and have their own transport.
In addition, the successful candidate should / should be able to:
Reside in Johannesburg or Pretoria
Solution and improvement focused (initiative and self-motivation).
Effective time management skills with a sense of urgency.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Ability to work unsupervised, be able to multi-task and work under pressure.
Proactively work within a team of multi-disciplinary engineers.
