IT Support Engineer
This is an office-based role, located in Runcorn, Cheshire, Merseyside, requiring 5 days a week on-site presence. Our client, a growing organization, seeks an experienced IT Support / Application Support Engineer with strong client-facing skills to join their team.
Responsibilities:
Provide customer support via telephone and remote access, liaising with customer IT/IS departments.
Occasional travel to client sites, primarily within the UK, with potential global travel.
Install server software and configure connected devices to customer specifications.
Establish network communications, conduct system testing, and assist in commissioning processes.
Identify and escalate issues, support Engineering team with software expertise.
Conduct customer training on products.
Participate in out-of-hours on-call rota.
Requirements:
Minimum 1 year experience in client-facing IT Support.
Innovative problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach.
Understanding of Microsoft SQL Server installation, intermediate scripting, and TCP/IP networks.
Full software implementation experience and end-user training skills.
Flexibility for UK, Europe, and global support.
Exposure to scripting languages, Microsoft SQL tools, industrial devices, and communication protocols.
Proficiency in another language (German, Spanish, French) is a plus.
The role involves daily customer contact, reporting to the Software Engineering Director, and is based in Runcorn/Frodsham, Cheshire.
