Our client, a giant in the automotive industry is looking for a Technical IT Operations Manager to oversee the organization's IT operations and to ensure the efficient and secure performance of all IT systems and infrastructure.
Requirements Matric Relevant Tertiary qualification advantageous Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT operations management Proven expertise in Nimble, Commvault, VMware, Panda, Palo Alto, and Barracuda Strong knowledge of IT security and compliance standards Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills Project management experience, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Needs to be able to work under pressure Key Responsibilities: IT Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT department, ensuring systems are running smoothly and efficiently.
Manage and optimize IT infrastructure, including storage solutions (Nimble), backup and recovery systems (Commvault), virtualization platforms (VMware), and security solutions (Panda, Palo Alto, Barracuda).
Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of IT systems.
Develop and implement strategies for infrastructure scaling and improvements.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect IT infrastructure.
Monitor security alerts and respond to incidents promptly.
Ensure IT operations comply with industry regulations, company policies, and security standards.
Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability testing.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of IT professionals.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and development within the team.
Allocate resources effectively to meet operational goals and project deadlines.
Project Management: Plan and execute IT operations projects, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources.
Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors and service providers.
Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure optimal service delivery.
Evaluate and select new technologies and solutions to enhance IT operations.
