Job SpecificationStrategy and PlanningRecommend information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organisation outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.Planning, developing and implementing the IT budget, obtaining competitive prices from suppliers, to ensure cost effectiveness.Ensure that software licensing laws are adhered to.Research and install new systems.Keeping up to date with the latest technologies.Project ManagementDevelop requirements, outline budgets and schedules for information technology projects.Oversee all phases of projects from conception to completion, within the allotted budget.Complete projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments.People ManagementProvide guidance and support to IT team members.Mentor and train new IT support staff.Communicate job expectations to team members.Plan, monitor, and appraise job results.Coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees.Managing Business ProcessesEvaluate user needs and system functionality ensuring that IT facilities meet these needs.Schedule upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems.Guarantee the smooth running of all IT systems, including anti-virus software, print services, and email provision.Provide secure access to the network for remote users.Secure data from internal and external attack.Offer users appropriate support and advice.Manage crisis situations, which may involve complex technical hardware or software problems.Initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.Verify application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented.Preserve assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.Job Type: Full-timeEducation:Bachelors (Required)Experience:IT Management: 7 years (Required)Staff management: 7 years (Required)IT Infrastructure: 7 years (Required)Location:Germiston, Gauteng (Preferred)Willingness to travel:25% (Preferred)
