About The Role
The Server and Data Continuity Specialist is an integral part of the Server and Data Continuity Center of Expertise team and is responsible for the infrastructure scope within the server domain. Providing solutions and support to all Amcor locations in the EMEA region while also supporting locations globally where needed.
As part of the scope handled by the Server Specialist, the principle accountability of the job is to manage all or a part of the following:
Manage the server, backup and storage environment.Co-ordinate and implement agreed and approved solutions across the region in a timely and cost-effective manner.Work closely with Group IT personnel both at a regional and global level to promote appropriate solutions to business problems.Develop, maintain and enforce standards across all Amcor sites and prepare documentation to substantiate the need for these guidelines where appropriate.Work with external service providers in all aspects of the projects that require external resources to implement.Leverage new functionality from existing systems to improve reliability and the features/functions available to the business and develop a business case and implementation plan.The above list is not exhaustive but represents the main responsibilities expected of the role holder. In addition to the above, the role holder will be expected to undertake all reasonable tasks as requested.
Key Job Accountabilities
Management of tickets and tasks assigned to server support in EMEA, to ensure an effective level of support.Be a key player of the global IT infrastructure team to ensure a stable and efficient server and backup environments.Responsible for the implementation, configuration, management and monitoring of server and backup infrastructures.Setup of standardized systems monitoring across all EMEA sites.Diagnose and troubleshoot server related issues.Provide 3rd level support and act as subject matter expert, providing recommendations in areas of server, backup and storage.Collaborate and work closely with other members of the global IT infrastructure team.Plan, manage and participate in local, regional and global infrastructure projects.Maintain and improve the server, backup, and storage environments.Adhere to Infrastructure Service Delivery methodologies and Enterprise Architecture global standards.Management of general server and Data Continuity related documentation and knowledge base.The above list is not exhaustive but represents the main accountabilities expected of the role holder. Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience/studies.Minimum of 5 years experience in a technical IT Environment.Microsoft, VMware and Veeam Certifications are preferred.ITIL certificate will be advantageous.Good knowledge of infrastructure subjects, technological trends and innovation.Knowledge of server infrastructure solutions.Experience with Virtual Environments (VMware ESXi 7.x+, Hyper-V, XenServer, or other virtualization platforms).Experience with Storage (DAS, NAS, SAN).Experience with Backup (Veeam Data Platform).Experience with Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022 and Linux operating systems.Knowledge of Active Directory, GPOs.Good understanding of systems monitoring and experience in setting up monitoring tools.Technical background in automating tasks, programming or scripting will be beneficial.Fluent in English (company working language).Amcor is a global leader in developing and producing responsible packaging solutions for food, beverage, pharmaceutical, medical, home and personal-care, and other products.
