Our client based in Secunda is looking for an IR Officer.Desired Skills:IRTrade unionsAbout The Employer:Industrial Relations StrategySupport the development and implementation of the organization's industrial relations policies and procedures.Work closely with management and unions to promote a constructive dialogue and maintain positive relations.Monitor trends in employment legislation, industrial relations, and trade union activities, ensuring the organization remains compliant and proactive.Negotiation and Dispute ResolutionAct as a key liaison between the company and trade unions, handling negotiations on collective bargaining agreements, pay, working conditions, and other employee-related matters.Assist in the resolution of industrial disputes and ensure compliance with relevant laws and procedures.Represent the company in dispute resolution processes including mediation, arbitration, and conciliation.Grievance and Disciplinary ManagementManage and resolve employee grievances and disputes in accordance with the organization's grievance procedures.Provide guidance to line managers on disciplinary procedures and ensure consistency in the application of policies.Investigate misconduct and assist in organizing and presenting cases for disciplinary hearings.Labor Law ComplianceEnsure that the organization adheres to all applicable labor and employment laws, including health and safety regulations, working hours, and employee rights.Keep up-to-date with legislative changes and make recommendations to senior management on necessary adjustments to policies and practices.Employee and Union EngagementDevelop and maintain effective communication channels with employees and their representatives to discuss and address issues related to working conditions, performance, and relations.Facilitate regular meetings with union representatives and employee groups to foster transparency and trust.Reporting and DocumentationMaintain accurate and up-to-date records of all industrial relations activities, including disputes, grievances, and negotiations.Prepare regular reports for senior management on the status of industrial relations and any potential risks.Training and DevelopmentProvide training and coaching to managers and staff on industrial relations, conflict resolution, and relevant employment laws.Promote awareness of the organization's industrial relations policies and procedures.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Labor Law, or a related field.3-5 years of experience in an HR role with a strong focus on industrial relations.Blue Collar experience.Experience in working with trade unions and handling collective bargaining agreements is highly desirable.Knowledge of applicable labor laws and regulations.Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
