Purpose of the job:
Provide a value-added Human Resources partnership to management and staff in the department. Ensure structures and processes are in place to protect the department in terms of legislation and compliance, and internal best practice.Assist with CCMA/DRC tracking of cases and all IR administrative processes are effectively being managed and IR support is being adequately provided.
Job Functions:
IR Administration and Management

Knowledgeable and experienced in assisting with CCMA/National Bargaining Council processes, and knowledge of rules as well as experience in conciliation and arbitration proceedings.
Knowledge of Labour Court proceedings will be an added advantage.
Supervision, presentation, and communication skills for presenting on IR matters; must be able to be decisive and initiate action.
Working with Trade Unions/Shop Stewards/Workers Forums.
Employment Equity reporting.
Ability to work under pressure and to manage time.
Good decision-making, organizational, and people skills.
Training Managers and Employees on IR policies and procedures.
Schedule meetings with labour consultant to chair disciplinary enquiries with DRC/CCMA if required or be experienced to chair these hearings and attend to enquiries.
Work on Salesforce to ensure all disciplinary paperwork has been placed in file i.e., on the system and a hard copy on the personnel file.
Follow up on existing and future cases which have been escalated to CCMA/DRC and liaise with labour council regarding dates.
Ensure the full CCMA and DRC process and the administration thereof with the HR Officers and HR administrators, i.e., ensure there was an objection to con/arbs and that the team compiles CCMA/DRC Packs etc.
Manage the execution of the disciplinary, grievance, and dispute resolution policies, processes, and mechanisms within the Company through active case management, advising and consulting on IR related matters and issues, and monitoring and reporting on trends and identified risks. Keep the team and management up to date on IR activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Case Management.
Manage all cases referred to CCMA/Labour Court.
Conciliation/Arbitration meetings.
Employment Equity legislative processes within the Company.
Reporting/Monitoring and Consulting.
Subject Matter Expert in Training and Development on IR matters.
Excellent knowledge and application of BCEA and LRA.
Monthly tracking and completion of IR reports.

Job Requirements:

5 years working experience in the Industrial relations field.
Matric.
National Diploma or Degree in Industrial Relations, Labour Law, or Human Resources.
Any relevant additional certification will be an added advantage.

Technical (systems) knowledge required:

Good computer literacy in MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Salesforce.

Complexity for decision making:

Operational / Diagnostic.
