The Inventory Clerk is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the despatch area and monitoring the output. The Inventory Clerk often works in busy periods where priorities can change at a moment's notice, so an ability to multitask and to delegate is essential for this role. The Inventory Clerk duties and responsibilities include:
Cycle counts, order execution, quality orders, dispatch control, and customer duties. This includes ensuring health and safety, evaluating procedures, enhancing processes, engaging and communicating with the Senior Warehouse Manager for ordering stock, and checking the accuracy of physically received stock items against delivery notes and invoices.
Ensure that daily operations meet and exceed daily performance expectations to assist in meeting customer expectations and increasing customer satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
D365 stock recording is always current and up to date. Less than 1% deviation in actual vs D365 total stock value.
Drive successful execution of all sales orders with exceptions totaling less than 2%.
View successful quality control checks of sales orders with no errors. Ensure all sales orders have been through the quality order process before distributions/shipping occurs.
Full function of order execution on all outbound orders.
Minimizing credit notes processed within the organization when delivering the right product to the customer.
Drive customer experience.
Drive successful delivery of orders to customers with no errors.
D365 stock recording always current and up to date. Less than 1% deviation in actual vs Astea total stock value.
Performing safety checks and equipment inspections.
Maintaining accurate and timely paper and D365 F&O information.
Drive successful compliance to ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 with no critical findings.

Apply Continuous improvement practices. Identify areas of improvement, amend or adjust existing work procedures and practices where required in line with approval from Senior Manager: SHEQ Management & Warehouse.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage Inventory
Route variance analysis and reconcile actual vs theoretical stock volumes at weekly cycle counts, half-year and financial year-end stock counts.
Processing of orders for Dispatch
Pick, pack & ship – timely processing of sales orders to fulfilment status for invoicing.
Pack stock for collection from the customer and prepare the documents for the logistics company to collect stock to be shipped.
Lease with the logistics company for collection even if this is after normal business hours or over weekends.
Ensure delivery notes/PODs are timely sent to the Billing department to trigger customer invoicing.
Liaison
With the freight company regarding ETA of deliveries.
Supply Chain Manager regarding stock needs and availability, ETAs, on packaging material.
Lease with Customers regarding open sales orders and collection.
Lease with Nexus internal staff when sales orders were fulfilled for customer invoicing.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Educational Qualifications:
Matric
Certification / accreditation in inventory record keeping / stock control/ warehousing / warehouse management.
Forklift / reach truck competency
Commercial Driver's License
Professional Qualifications:
Computer Literacy
Microsoft D365 Warehouse functions (preferable)
Years of Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years' experience
