Job Title: Inventor/Piping Draughtsman Location: Pretoria East Salary: Market related Vacancy Type: Full-Time Closing date for applications: End Dec 2024 Non- negotiable qualifications and experience required: Relevant Draughting Certification or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 2 - 10 years of experience as a Piping Draughtsman. Strong knowledge of piping materials, fittings, valves, and standards relevant to the water industry. Familiarity with isometric and orthographic drawings. Beneficial requirements: 12 years of experience in the water industry is preferred, Understanding of water treatment processes and systems preferred. Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor for 3D piping design; additional experience with AutoCAD is advantageous. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Duties and responsibilities: Develop and draft detailed piping designs and layouts using Autodesk Inventor, with a focus on projects within the water industry. Collaborate with engineers to create 3D models and 2D drawings of piping systems, ensuring designs adhere to project specifications and industry standards. Conduct site assessments as needed to gather data for design specifications. Prepare isometric drawings and material take-offs to assist with project planning and execution. Coordinate with the project team to ensure all designs are compliant with regulatory requirements and project constraints. Update and maintain drawing documentation and databases to ensure accurate records are kept. Assist in modifying existing drawings to reflect updates and changes during project lifecycles.
