Job Description Job Overview: Our client seeks to appoint an experienced and dedicated individual to join their School Management Team as a Head of Department for the Intermediate Phase.
The ideal candidate will work closely with the principal, be able to work independently and requires minimal supervision.
Requirements Key Responsibilities: - Lead curriculum planning and implementation to ensure that all teaching practices align with the educational standards and objectives.
- Develop and monitor effective assessment strategies to evaluate learners progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Interpret and apply policies related to assessments, CAPS, and ATP to ensure compliance and facilitate optimal learning outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with the principal and other school leaders to foster a cohesive and supportive educational environment.
- Provide guidance and support to teaching staff within the department, promoting professional development and continuous improvement.
- Liaise with parents, guardians, and the wider educational community to enhance learners engagement and school reputation.
Qualifications and Skills: - Holds a Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree in Intermediate Phase.
- SACE registered.
- Minimum of 3 years school management experience or a similar role.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively in both English and Afrikaans, facilitating interactions with a diverse school community.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills, with a focus on driving educational excellence.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with staff and stakeholders.
- Computer literate and excellent time management skills.
