Hatch is seeking an Intermediate Designer to join our Bulk Materials Handling team (BMH) to join our offices located in Greenstone Hill, Johannesburg.
The successful incumbent will have experience in both the 2D and 3D CAD environment and will be familiar with typical Bulk Material Handling equipment and plant layouts. Furthermore, they will need to have a good knowledge of different material types and their behavior in different conditions, which is essential for plant and equipment design.
Key responsibilities include: Production of accurate engineering drawings for the external manufacture and procurement of equipment, responsibility for safe design, quality, time and costs on assigned tasks – using established company systems and procedures.Preparing conceptual layouts for use in plant development, plant and equipment upgrades and modifications as required by customers.Creating or updating bills of materials.Participation in projects to modify and upgrade plant and equipment or to develop new plants.Preferred Qualifications and Experience: A combination of educational and experience background is essential - N6 or T3 is preferred.Experience in the design of BMH equipment in the port terminal, mining and mineral processing fields is important.2D and 3D drafting experience using 3D CAD software (MicroStation).Three years of drafting and design experience in the BMH field.The incumbent needs to be conversant with technologies used in the bulk material handling industry.Basic knowledge of materials and material flow, conveyors, bin, hopper and chute design, stockyard machines, rail tipplers, rail and road out loading stations and shiploading.Knowledge and experience of manufacturing processes.Collaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutions.Don't meet every single requirement?
