Create manning estimates, labor standards, and monitor plant efficiencies. Investigates various options and develops required layouts for new and current processes, methods and systems to maximize ergonomic solutions that lead to improvements across the manufacturing site.Required LearningBachelor's Degree and or B Tech Diploma in Industrial Engineering or equivalent.Minimum 8 years of experience with planning and improving manufacturing operations of which 2 years must be at a management level.Proven ability to lead cost savings opportunities in a manufacturing environment.Key Job OutputsTo implement studies beneficial to improving facility efficiencies.Analyze operations and results of studies to develop more effective methods of operation.Implement improvements upon management acceptance.Develop and maintain standards and controls for production yields, machine capacities and efficiency from raw material receipt to finished goods.Facilitate Continuous Improvement projects.Implementation of Visual performance measurements.Supervise Industrial Engineers in new methods, procedures and use of LEAN principles.Use and or coordinate AutoCAD to recommend plant and equipment layouts and equipment vendors for new equipment opportunities.Develop project justification (Return on Investment) for plant improvements.Assist in the identification, selection, obtaining and installing equipment and/or improved operating procedures for the plant.Leads and or participates in continuous improvement activities to ensure improvement in processes, products, components, raw materials, and equipment.Manage projects as needs arise – such as new equipment and tools.Monitor and ensure that manufacturing process lead-times are maintained and accurate.Manage team performance.Optimization time & method study tools - Time studies, OEE, Daily reports & Trend Analysis.Information systems are utilized for maximum effectiveness.Reports are generated, analyzed and communicated.Statistics are calculated and reported.Mentors & coaches on lean manufacturing methods.Support efforts to meet manufacturing planning schedule requirements by improving equipment utilization, engineering processes/procedures, production methods and material usage/flow.Works with Master Scheduler to troubleshoot issues and works to bring them to resolution within the required time frame.Demonstrate excellent project management and planning skills.To coordinate all the activities of MBU'S so as to obtain maximum utilization of resources and improve OEE performance.Coordinate all the activities of MBU'S structure for proper governance.Facilitates MBU process improvement interventions.Assess current and future capacity requirements by utilizing value stream mapping and capacity planning methodologies.Utilize effective Lean manufacturing process MBU and design techniques to optimize overall manufacturing system performance through innovative and effective solutions.Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.Core CompetenciesDemonstrated leadership and management skills.Strong with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.Working knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts and practices.Enhanced structured problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate to all levels.Collaborative team player.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionEngineering and Information TechnologyIndustriesStaffing and Recruiting
