Description Our client in the Automotive components manufacturing industry, based in Uitenhage (38 kms out of Port Elizabeth), is currently looking to employ an Assembly Artisan (EE).
Job Overview: To plan, implement and improve T.I.E. functions to support meeting the company's
manufacturing objectives and business objectives according to ISO/TS 16949 and ISO14001. To provide management with the information with which they can effectively manage the organisation's resources. To implement and improve production line efficiency, standardised work processes, packaging, material information flow and Kanban.

Requirements: An Industrial Engineering Degree / Diploma.3-4 years industrial engineering experience in an automotive environment.Packaging experience would be a distinct advantage.Ability to assist in the design of factory layouts.Computer literacy must include Microsoft Office, Microsoft Projects, and Auto Cad.Responsibilities, but not limited to: Conduct man assignment and line balance studies to ensure the best utilisation of labour and optimum labour costs within areas of delegated responsibility.Standard Labour Costing: Determine the standard / estimated times for all operations required for product RFQ's and provide this information to the Costing Department.Packaging and dunnage design, customer liaison, cost saving and implementation.Study and observe implemented systems daily and implement corrective actions as required.Report irresolvable non-conformances to TIE Team Leader and Mfg Engineering Manager.Establish areas for kaizen activity and set up task teams to improve said areas.Implement and support Kan Ban Programmes.Attend various 8D meetings on quality and process issues and provide relevant technical input.Close out all internal audit findings within areas of delegated responsibility in time and ensure that evidence is provided to show effective close-out.Conduct Housekeeping, Environmental and Health & Safety observation tours as scheduled.Daily liaison with Line Management & provide assistance as required.Compile & submit required monthly reports to Mfg Engineering Manager.Undertake any other projects or tasks as assigned by Management from time to time, ensure required levels of efficiency and professionalism within department.Kindly be advised that should you not receive a response within two weeks of applying, please consider your application unsuccessful.
