The purpose of this role is to provide multidisciplinary Instrumentation and Control skills to ensure preventive and proactive maintenance and operation of the plant to achieve factory performance targets.
The Instrumentation Technician keeps the instrumentation and control system operational by fault finding, correcting faults and documenting system changes.
WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE Preventive maintenance and backup of all software-related equipment.Cybersecurity and basic repairs to ensure efficient operation of equipment and production of a quality product.Respond to breakdowns and other issues brought to the attention of Maintenance as needed during operations, minimizing operational delays.Troubleshoot, fine-tune, or adjust equipment to ensure proper operation.Routine visual inspection and/or testing of equipment and structures to identify and report any need for scheduled repairs.Instrumentation, Electrical, and Control work.Interpret and work from schematics and electrical drawings.Installation and alignment of machinery and equipment.Participate in continuous improvement activities.Follow established department and plant procedures, including those related to preventive maintenance systems, obtaining parts, and taking corrective action when hazardous or potential loss conditions are found.Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.Other duties as requested by supervision, working with and assisting Artisans and operations personnel as needed.Experiences & Qualifications Minimum N4 qualification plus trade test OR National Diploma/BTech in Instrumentation/Electrical/Electronic Engineering.Full understanding of Control systems.Understanding of Networks protocols, PLCs, SCADA development, Batch, servo and AC drives; Allen Bradley experience will be advantageous.Must have 5 years' experience in manufacturing, preferably with FMCG exposure in manufacturing processes and packing (Soap making experience will be advantageous).Ability to perform all duties associated with the position, with minimal supervision.Skills Understanding and identifying component failure, diagnosing and repairing independently is an advantage.Proficient computer literacy in SAP, Access, Outlook, and Microsoft Office.Problem-solving and fault-finding skills.Good communication skills with a willingness to share expertise and knowledge.Leadership You are energized by delivering fantastic results.
