The picturesque surroundings of their Hilton office provide a conducive environment for collaboration and professional growth, making this position not only a career move but a lifestyle choice.Join the team, where passion meets purpose, and together, we create a future where engineering excellence and environmental stewardship go hand in hand.Duties & ResponsibilitiesDeveloping national/regional water balance plansWater resources yield and planning analysisWater Services Development PlansWater Conservation and Demand Management PlansMaster planning and network analysisCatchment hydrology assessments, including rainfall-runoff modelingDesign flood hydrologyHydraulic modelingConceptual design and sizing of stormwater infrastructureFlood risk assessment and flood line determinationWater and salt balancesDetermining the social and economic aspects of water resourcesBusiness Development, compilation of proposal documents, and costingScientific report writingDesired Experience & QualificationBSc Eng (Civil) or BSc Hydrology (Hons), preferably at the Master's levelA proven track record of water resource planning and modeling in small and large systemsProfessional registration (Pr.Sci.Nat or Pr.Eng)ExperienceMust have solid experience in the mining sector, storm water management planning, and water balances.Experience working on international projects would be an advantage.Extensive knowledge and experience using typical modelling systems used in South Africa (ACRU, Pitman, PC SWMM, WRYM, WRPM, HECRAS, GoldSim, WEAP, SWAT, Mike modelling, and DSS tools) and the use of GIS are required.Job Profile / SkillsMust-have skills include strong interpersonal and networking abilities, business development expertise, and project management skills.Additional Skills and ExperienceExperience in multidisciplinary water-related studies (national, regional water planning studies, and individual water infrastructure project feasibility studies)Climate change and assessment of potential impacts on water resources and supplyRisk and vulnerability climate and water assessmentsHydraulic design of drainage structuresWater quality analysis for mining and industrial clientsTraining and capacity buildingDevelopment of hydro-informatics systems/hydrological databasesDesign and implementation of hydrological gauging networksModeling and implementation of contemporary adaptation options (such as Ecosystem-based Adaptation)Package & RemunerationMarket Related
