Our client is requiring a highly experienced, competent and motivated hospitality professional to assume the role of Hotel General Manager at their beautiful Hotel located near Hartbeespoort Dam. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all operations of the hotel, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, increasing occupancy and maximizing profitability. Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all hotel departments, including front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, sales and marketing, and maintenance
Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve financial targets and enhance overall performance
Maintain high levels and standards of customer service and satisfaction, ensuring that all guests receive a memorable and personalized experience
Manage and motivate a team of employees, providing training, support, and feedback as needed
Oversee the recruitment, retention, and development of staff members
Monitor and analyze financial performance, budgeting, and forecasting to drive revenue and cost control initiatives
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures
Maintain positive relationships with guests, suppliers, and other key stakeholders
Implement and enforce health, safety, and security protocols to protect guests and staff
Handle guest complaints and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner
Qualifications and Skills:
Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
Valid driver's license required
A tertiary qualification in Hospitality Management or a related field will be advantageous
Proven experience as a General Manager in the hotel industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership / management role
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational and time management abilities
Proficiency in budgeting, financial analysis, and revenue management
Knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and technologies
Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions in challenging situation
This is a 5.5 (five and a half day) position and requires working extended hours, weekends and public holidays as per operational requirements of the Hotel.
