RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures the highest level of guest satisfaction by ensuring delivery according to hotel standards, with necessary performance improvement if the hotel is below standard.
Directs, organises and controls the efforts of all staff to demonstrate service attributes in accordance with industry expectations and company standards to include being attentive to guests, accurately and promptly fulfilling guest requests, understanding and anticipating guest needs, demonstrating a service attitude that exceeds expectations, and taking appropriate action to resolve guest complaints.
Maintains a high level of product and service knowledge.
Takes a pro-active role in the sales function of the hotel.
Utilizes physical inspection methods to determine capital expenditure, repairs, and maintenance requirements.
Supports the financial and operational plans for the hotel which support overall objectives of the company.
Develops the annual budget.
Manages and maintains a pro-active human resources function to ensure employee selection, motivation, training, and development in compliance with policies, procedures, and employment laws. Actively targets, monitors, and actions feedback from Employee Satisfaction Survey programmes. Works within company diversity guidelines and equal opportunities.
Carries out staff appraisals when requested and sends summary reports to the Human Resources Manager.
Ensures that the hotel is in compliance with all statutory laws and regulations, including BCEA, LRA, Liquor Act, OHSA, and other laws relating to the operation of a hotel business.
Maintains effective communication at all levels of the company, including regular staff communication meetings.
Complies with the company corporate code of conduct at all times.
Familiarizes yourself with the company vision and values which link to our model of desired behaviours that we expect all employees to display.
Performs other tasks at the level of the role as directed by your line manager in pursuit of the achievement of business goals.
Ability to work as part of a diverse team with colleagues from different viewpoints and cultures.
