Hotel Accountant required KZN R15,000-R18,000 live in position.

Outline of Position Reporting to
· Financial Director / General Manager Salary
· R apply below Up to R apply below (SINGLE LIVE position)
· Single room UNFURNISHED with onsuite Shower, basin & toilet (water and lights included in reasonable use)
Uniforms
· Uniforms provided for summer and winter. Staff to provide own stockings, shoes and belts as per requirements.
Working Week
· Monday to Friday 07h30 to 16h30 administrative hours · 15 days annual leave per annum worked
Computer Literacy
· Word, Excel required.
· Microsoft Office email required · SAGE Pastel required
· Micros Point Of Sale is an advantage

Staff Compliment Administrative Assistant

Overview of Job
The Hotel Accountant will be required to manage the Accounting Office with Admin Assistant and ensure that the Hotel's financial aspect is maintained and operational at all times in line with principles, auditing procedures and policies.

Specific Job Description
Basic Function:
The Hotel Accountant position creates financial transactions and creates financial reports from the Hotel financial information. The creation of financial transactions includes posting information to accounting journals or accounting software from such source documents as invoices to customers, cash receipts, and supplier invoices. The Hotel Accountant also reconciles accounts to ensure their accuracy.

Principal Accountabilities but not limited to:


Pay supper invoices in a timely manner
Take all reasonable discounts on supplier invoices Pay any debt as it comes due for payment
Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants Assist and monitor VAT implications on Hotel sales received Ensure that receivables are collected promptly
Record cash receipts and make bank deposits
maintain a daily Bank Recon and keep all aspects up to date Conduct a monthly reconciliation of every bank account
Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy Maintain the petty cash fund
Issue financial statements
Provide information to the external accountant who creates the company's financial statements Assemble information for external auditors for the annual audit
Calculate and issue financial analysis of the financial statements Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
Maintain the chart of accounts Maintain the annual budget
Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management on a P&L monthly
Comply with statutory government reporting requirements
Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested
Applies principles of accounting to analyse financial information and prepare financial reports. Compiles and analyses financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general
ledger accounts, documenting business transactions, management accounts.
Analyse financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position.
Audits contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement.
May establish, modify, document, and coordinate implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
May devise and implement manual or computer-based system for general accounting. May direct and coordinate activities of other clerical workers performing accounting and
bookkeeping tasks.

Attributes:
· Minimum 3 years accountant position experience
· Hotel accounting experience preferred, but not a requirement
· Must be able to multi task
· Able to recon and make advisements positively for the best interest of the Company
· Proactive and NOT re active
· Positive attitude
· Procedurally strict
