Hostel Manager

What are we looking for? We are looking for someone with the following experience, qualifications and/or skillsets:
Grade 12.
Must have a valid Driver's License with code 10 with PDP.
3 Years' experience as a Hostel Manager.
The responsibilities are:
Catering Management
Management of menu with outsourced caterer.
Provide numbers to caterers.
Review of food quality to ensure standards are maintained.
Discuss changes and requirements with caterers.
Check stock received for catering.
Prepare meals on weekends for learners.
Manage layout and set up of dining hall including upgrading as required.
Check stock of cutlery and crockery for weekend use.
Hostel Facilities Management
Check facilities to determine maintenance.
Arrange repairs with maintenance.
Report needs for maintenance to facilities.
General hostel cleanliness and upkeep.
Oversee garden maintenance of the hostel.
Learner Well Being
Provide support to learners across all elements of well being.
Deal with any issues that occur in the Hostel.
Provide guidance and support to learners.
General overall pastoral care at the hostel.
Transport and Logistics
Management of logistics across the campus.
Manage the fleet.
Manage transport and logistics routes.
Dealing with any transport issues across groups.
Management of bus drivers.
Create and manage fleet budget.
Planning maintenance of fleet.
Determine costing for routes.
Management of accounts with filling station.
Handles bookings of all vehicles including for sporting events.
Processing of insurance claims.
Staff Management
Recruitment and selection of new staff within salary budget in conjunction with Executive Management.
Mentoring and management of Staff.
Staff appraisals.
Management of disciplinary issues and then referral to Executive Head as required.
Mediation between staff and parents in the event of issues.
Sign off leave roster and management of leave allocations.
Management and remediation of absenteeism.
Development of staff.
Manage staff retention.
The successful candidate will start on 01 January 2025.
