TRS Staffing Solutions is seeking a HOD CIVIL ENGINEER required to manage and lead Civil Design team in the office and those who are assigned to work on projects sites for our Client based in CENTURION, GAUTENG. JOB DESCRIPTION: Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; conferring with management. Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements; reviewing bids from contractors. Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates. Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements. Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes, recommending actions. Controls project costs by approving expenditures, administering contractor contracts. Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, recommending actions. Design, Reporting and Project Management of projects in Civil Engineering infrastructural services to meet projects objectives (Water, Sewer, Roads). QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: BEng (Civil), or equivalent degree. Must be professionally registered or registrable with ECSA as PrEng, and SAICE. Good experience in bulk water and wastewater municipal infrastructure, storm water systems, earthworks, basic road and drainage systems. Some process design experience will be advantageous. Experience of managing a team of junior and senior employees. Minimum 20 years in engineering design, management and Construction. Extensive experience in design and construction of bulk steel water pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, abstraction works and water treatment plants. Minimum 5 years after professional (ECSA) registration or any other recognized professional bodies. Proven track in management and leadership within consulting firm. Knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, various civil and water design software. Driver's License is Essential. ________________________________________
