Job Description
A world-leading Consulting firm with offices around the globe is seeking to hire a Head of Power for South Africa and India. You will play a crucial role in their growing Power and Renewables team, leading the team in South Africa and India, overseeing project delivery, and driving new business to expand team capabilities and revenue. Focus will be on winning and executing projects offering power-related services like independent engineering, owner's engineering, energy storage, grid, and connection services for domestic and international clients including lenders, developers, owners, and investors.


Responsibilities include managing the local cost center, overseeing all financial aspects within the power division, and collaborating with other areas of the company to support global business goals.


Minimum Qualification Requirements:

Bachelor or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, etc.
Professional Registration (PrEng or CEng)

Minimum Experience Requirements:
Essential:

Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
Extensive experience in power and renewables engineering
Successful track record in managing project teams
Consulting engineering experience
Strong technical and commercial expertise in energy asset development
Experience in contract review and negotiation
Competitive proposal preparation for energy projects

Advantageous:

Static and dynamic power system studies
Design and specification of HV substation equipment
Grid network engineering for renewables projects
Experience working for IFIs

Minimum Knowledge Requirements:

Knowledge of providing Power/Renewables consultancy services
Managerial experience in project environments
Commercial/contractual experience in Power/Renewables projects
Understanding of planning application processes
Knowledge of onshore wind, offshore wind, solar PV

Minimum Skills Requirements:

Proven ability to lead a team
Project management expertise
Excellent reporting writing and presentation skills
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Commercial skills for client-facing roles
Fluency in English
Advanced IT skills including Microsoft Office
