Join our growing start-up business as the Head of Operations and lead our operational excellence. In this exciting role, you will manage all logistics aspects of our platform: working closely with partners and suppliers on stock management, managing the warehouse, and in charge of outgoing logistics by working closely with delivery partners and managing partner's pickup points. Your ability to implement innovative solutions and foster a collaborative, safety-focused culture will be essential in supporting our rapid growth and delivering exceptional service. The Head of Operations will be based at the warehouse and may be required to join management meetings in the main office on a weekly basis. The role reports directly to the General Manager.Key Responsibilities:• Warehouse Operations Management: Plan, monitor, and manage daily warehouse operations, including inventory functions, inbound receiving, and outbound shipments, ensuring performance meets budgeted costs and service requirements.• Suppliers and Partners: Work closely with SOLshop merchants, partners and suppliers to maintain stock condition and availability.• Partner's Pick Up Points: Manage network of partner's pickup points to ensure customer satisfaction and great experience collecting their packages.• Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and develop the warehouse team, including hiring, training, and managing staff performance, while fostering a positive work environment.• Inventory Control: Oversee accurate inventory management, including daily cycle counts, bin audits, stock adjustments, and control of high-value materials, ensuring optimal stock levels and minimizing losses.• Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with global logistics processes and company policies, conducting regular safety training and audits.• Process Improvement: Implement and manage continuous improvement initiatives to optimize warehouse processes, reduce waste, and enhance productivity, while maintaining high standards in receiving, storage, and dispatch.• Budget and Cost Control: Manage warehouse budgets, control expenses, analyze variances, and identify cost-saving opportunities to maintain efficient operations.• Reporting and Communication: Provide regular performance reports and updates to senior management, and ensure effective communication with other departments and stakeholders to support seamless operations.• Logistics and Equipment Management: Oversee logistics functions, including transportation and vehicle fleet management, and maintain equipment and warehouse conditions to ensure operational efficiency and high standards.Requirements:• Qualification in Business Administration, Project Management, logistics, supply and or chain management.• Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities.• Proficiency with warehouse procedures and policies.• 8 or more years of experience in a senior operation role within an FMCG warehouse or packhouse environment.
