Head of IT - Johannesburg, South Africa - Michelle Taylor RecruitmentDescription:Seeking an experienced IT leader to oversee IT operations in SSA, ensuring stable operations and delivering high-quality IT support services.Key Responsibilities:Manage a team to deliver high-quality IT support servicesSupport the Global Service Desk in delivering services globallyProficient in the use of Service NowDesign and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirementsConduct feasibility studies for various upgrade projects, improvements, and other conversionsUnderstand the importance of Global Standards and ensuring solutions fit within theseAccountable for justification and in some cases business case creation of any spendPrepare RFPs, bid proposals, contracts, scope of work reports, and other documentation for infrastructure projects and associated effortsDevelop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for infrastructure administration and project managementParticipate in the development of IT strategies in collaboration with the executive teamTest network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining network infrastructureNegotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure infrastructure-specific products and servicesAssist with the planning and deployment of global security measuresWork within Global SLAs under GSDDirect and administrate a contingent of network analysts and technicians, and where necessary, conduct performance reviews and corrective actionRun regional projects as requiredAlign with country business line leaders and country managers for service reviews and prioritization of business requirementsRequirements:Personable, able to work with individuals at all levelsUniversity degree or college diploma in the field of computer science and/or 7 years equivalent work experienceCertifications in MCSE, CCIE advantageous5 years experience managing and delivering infrastructure design and operational excellence5 years service delivery management and/or partnering experienceExceptional knowledge of service and application delivery, as well as successful service level agreement accomplishments5 years successful leadership of an infrastructure teamHands-on experience in troubleshooting hardwareKnowledge of current protocols and standardsAbility to make sound and logical judgmentsDemonstrated leadership and personnel/project management skillsGood understanding of the organization's goals and objectivesStrong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skillsAble to conduct research into issues and products as requiredAbility to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situationsAbility to present ideas in a user-friendly languageHighly self-motivated and directedKeen attention to detailStrong customer service orientation
