Position: Head of IT Delivery | Business Solutions
A vacancy exists for the Head of IT Solution Delivery based at Head Office in Illovo, reporting to the Chief Information Officer - SA. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of approved and funded technology change programmes in support of business strategy. The Head of Solution Delivery will take overall responsibility for the initiation, planning, execution, development, integration, delivery, risk management, budgeting, and reporting of programmes across the portfolio from inception to completion.
Critical OutputsProject delivery Successful delivery of business technology solution programmes to enable business strategy.Ensure adherence to architectural standards in delivery of technology solutions.Design the projects' scope, component parts into projects with clear scope boundaries and objectives.Programme planning, design, and management to ensure delivery against scope at the required quality, within time, and budget to realise business benefits.Effective management of third party contributions to the programme.Management of the programme budget.PMO Define the PMO governance standards, goals, and objectives.Effective management of programme interdependencies and interfaces between projects, scope, risks and issues.Ensure adequate resourcing of the program from a capability and capacity perspective.Book of work prioritization.Capacity management and resource allocation.Financial management – accurate reporting and recovery of costs across the portfolio.Co-ordination of new capability for the business to enable effective change and realisation of projected benefits.Report progress of the programme at regular intervals to the relevant programme governance forum.Effective change and communications to transition new capabilities into operations.Provide input into staff performance and development.Development To plan, coordinate, and supervise all activities related to the design, development, and implementation of organizational information systems and software applications.Responsible for maintaining, supporting, and upgrading existing systems and applications.Participate in the planning, coordination, and solution development and implementation activities related to the integration of applications and technologies within the organization's application integration environment.Other People Management – skills development, retention, training and maintaining a positive culture in the team.Budget – accurate budgeting of costs and meeting budget targets.Reduce the IT Risk environment by owning and resolving open Risks, Audit findings as well as vendor contracts and SLA's.Delivery of IT's strategic objectives.Be an active member on IT Manco – fostering cooperation, growth and teamwork.Project a positive image of IT in the broader company.RequirementsDegree in information technology or engineering from accredited tertiary institution.Postgraduate business qualification essential.Project management certifications (e.g. Prince, PMBOK) from accredited institutions.10+ years' experience in programme and project management, of which at least 8 years managing complex business and technology programmes.Some direct experience in software development and/or programming design and systems management.Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of software solutions.Experience with automated software and system management tools.Preferably some experience with core software applications, including Azure Devops, Github, Visual Studio.Technical insight fluent in programming languages, including C#, Asp.net Core, Javascript, Angular.Sound business case development and approvals skills.Knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures.Leadership experience in managing multiple, large, cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders.Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies, and processing environments.Knowledge of all components of holistic enterprise architecture, business re-engineering principles and processes, and basic knowledge of financial models and budgeting.CompetenciesAttention to detail.Computer proficiency.Resilience.Strong verbal & written communication.Presentation skills.Excellence orientation.Ethical behaviour.Building relationships.Problem solving.Customer responsiveness.Organisational awareness.Engaging stakeholders.Financial acumen.Email: ******
