Permanent - Head of Group Rewards - Cape Town - South Africa Department & Region: Group Human Resources Head Office, Bellville Output/Core Tasks: Develop and maintain the Group Reward philosophy, principles and strategy. Bring a challenging, progressive and innovative approach to reward which is aligned with the Group's overall strategy and business objectives. Understanding the Group Business Cluster structures and their policies and practices in order to facilitate an interactive advice relationship with Business Cluster Exco's on Strategic Remuneration trends in the Group. Proactively monitor the company's rewards and benefits practice against market trends, taking into account the specific market nuances of each cluster comparator industry. Keep the Board, Exco and Clusters informed of relevant developments in order to ensure that the business is able to attract, retain and appropriately reward the most talented individuals and teams. Contribute to the development and successful execution of the Group's HR strategy. Ensure that there is appropriate consistency within the Group and its subsidiaries with regards to reward strategy. Determine the effectiveness of reward policies and strategies within the Group and make suggestions for improvement, to better align reward activities to overall reward strategy. As a leader of the Group's remuneration and benefits Forum, contribute to thought leadership for Group and Cluster processes and policies; alignment and efficiencies where appropriate and problem solving to drive talent retention and mobility solutions. Work closely with talent management to design reward strategies and solutions to support key skills development and ensure risk mitigation. Build strong supportive relationships with the Remuneration Advisors in both the Clusters and Group, to provide remuneration guidance and advice to both management and the relevant HR sub-committees. Manage and provide detailed insights, design and implementation advice on long-term and short-term incentive plans. Provide expert input on role benchmarking and job evaluation practices from across the Group. Lead remuneration and benefits projects including policy development and new process design and implementation. Review and develop employee benefit programmes such as retirement, medical and other benefits. Where feasible leverage synergies and cost benefits from common remuneration service providers for the clusters. Requirements Commerce degree, preferably with relevant post-graduate diploma or degree. Tax qualification an advantage. Up to 15 years' experience in a substantial corporate environment; and between 8 and 10 years within a reward function. Experience working with senior and executive management. Strong project management experience. Demonstrable modelling and analytical ability through development of financial models and interpretation of information. Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills. Financial services industry experience desirable (understands organizational strategy, competitive strengths, industry dynamics, profit levers, customers, and competitors) Solid understanding of the local and global regulatory reward frameworks; Deep working knowledge of variable pay schemes, particularly LTI schemes.
