Head Guide and/or Assistant Lodge Manager needed for a 5-star luxury lodge collection. Singles and couples are welcome to apply.BenefitsLive in, meals on duty, 6 weeks on 2 weeks off, medical aid and pension contribution.Head Guide DutiesGuided Tours and Activities:Lead Tours: Conduct guided tours, safaris, or outdoor activities, providing guests with in-depth knowledge about the local environment, wildlife, and geography.Guest Engagement: Engage with guests during activities, enhancing their experience with personalized commentary and educational insights.Safety and Risk Management:Safety Protocols: Ensure that all safety procedures are followed during activities, including wildlife encounters and emergency protocols.Emergency Preparedness: Handle emergencies related to outdoor activities, such as medical incidents or safety threats.Wildlife and Environmental Monitoring:Observation and Reporting: Monitor and record wildlife sightings and environmental conditions. Share this information with guests and lodge staff.Conservation Efforts: Promote and practice conservation principles, educating guests on environmental issues and sustainable practices.Guide Training: Train and mentor junior guides and field staff, ensuring they meet the lodge's standards for guest interaction and safety.Coordination: Coordinate with other guides and staff to ensure seamless execution of tours and activities.Guest Interaction:Personalized Service: Customize tours and activities based on guest preferences and interests.Feedback Collection: Gather and act on guest feedback to improve the quality of guided experiences.Operational Management:Daily Operations: Assist in overseeing daily lodge operations, including guest check-ins/check-outs, reservations, and general management.Staff Coordination: Coordinate with various departments to ensure smooth and efficient lodge operations.Guest Services:Guest Relations: Address guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests to ensure high levels of satisfaction.Personalized Experiences: Work with the Head Guide to arrange and customize experiences for guests, including activities and special requests.Administrative Tasks:Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of reservations, guest interactions, and operational issues.Reporting: Prepare reports on lodge activities, guest feedback, and staff performance.Staff Management:Scheduling: Assist with creating and managing staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts.Training and Supervision: Provide training and supervision for lodge staff, ensuring they adhere to lodge standards.Budget and Financial Management:Expense Tracking: Monitor and manage expenses related to lodge operations, including supplies and equipment.Inventory Management: Oversee inventory for supplies and equipment, ensuring cost-effective management.Collaboration Between Head Guide and Assistant Lodge ManagerCoordination of Guest Activities:Seamless Experience: Collaborate to ensure that guests' activities and experiences are well-coordinated between the lodge's operations and guided tours.Special Requests: Work together to fulfill special requests and customize guest experiences, integrating both lodge services and guided activities.Operational Efficiency:Communication: Maintain regular communication to address any operational issues, guest feedback, or staff concerns. Ensure that all departments are aligned in their efforts.Problem-Solving: Collaborate on solving problems related to guest services, staff performance, and operational challenges.Quality Control:Standards Enforcement: Ensure that both guided activities and lodge services meet high standards of quality and safety. Conduct regular checks and address any deficiencies.Guest Feedback and Improvement:Feedback Integration: Collect and analyze guest feedback related to both lodge services and guided activities. Use this feedback to make improvements and enhance the overall guest experience.Team Support:Staff Coordination: Support each other in managing and leading staff, providing guidance, and ensuring that all team members are working effectively towards common goals.
