If you are a culinary expert with a flair for innovation and a commitment to excellence, this is an exciting opportunity to lead a talented team in a stunning environment.Job Description:The Head Chef will be responsible for maintaining the highest kitchen hygiene standards, training and developing kitchen staff, and ensuring that all food served meets the established quality and presentation guidelines. This role requires creativity, proactive maintenance, and excellent communication skills to ensure a memorable dining experience for guests.Key Responsibilities:Set and maintain kitchen hygiene standards.Train chefs and implement kitchen standards.Follow and abide by the menu set according to the Food Styling Guide.Ensure presentation aligns with the Styling Guide and stay updated with culinary trends.Deliver creative bush banqueting experiences.Maintain proactive kitchen and equipment maintenance.Manage stock controls and stock rotation.Oversee all food orders, storerooms, fridges, and deep freezers in the absence of the executive chef.Check all food going out to guests and inspect buffets, dinners, and breakfasts.Ensure quality and quantity of snacks for game drives and adventures.Interact positively with guests, inviting feedback and ensuring satisfaction.Foster good communication and collaboration with the Food Fundis, inviting feedback and sharing ideas.Promote good discipline, fair treatment, and teamwork within the kitchen.Remain approachable and flexible, ensuring special dietary needs of guests are met.Requirements:Excellent communication skills with guests and staff.Ability to exceed the standard of the lodge with high-quality work.Strong organizational and lateral thinking abilities.Initiative and a proactive approach to tasks.Adherence to world-class hospitality and service standards.Honesty, integrity, and a driven personality with career ambitions.Knowledge Required:In-depth understanding of hospitality and environmental standards.Familiarity with the surrounding communities and country.Comprehensive company knowledge.Valid unendorsed SA driver's license.Experience with Panstrat.Previous Work Experience:Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in the service industry, particularly in guest and staff interactions.A passion for creating outstanding food and providing exceptional service.Additional Information:This is a permanent live-in position based in Mkuze.Transport to and from leave cycles is the successful candidate's responsibility.If you are a talented chef with a passion for culinary excellence and a love for creating memorable guest experiences, we encourage you to apply.
