Our restaurant situated just outside Wellington requires an experienced Head Chef.
Main focus: Customer satisfaction and Kitchen Management
Skills, experience and competencies required:
Client service orientated, with pleasant and efficient mannerWell-spoken and able to communicate verbally and in writing English essential.Ability to work as part of a team bearing in mind the large focus of the businessAbility to work under pressure and take personal responsibility for resultsHospitality background with strong grounding in food and beverageKey performance areasStaff
Set up rostersOversee kitchen staff, cleaners and maintenance staffMonitor hygiene standards and general appearance of the kitchen, restaurant incl. outdoors, and storesMaintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times of person and staffAttend meetingsLead the kitchen team by attracting, recruiting, training and appraising personnel.Follow proper termination procedures.Stock, costing and accounting
Oversee daily stock take of kitchen and chemicalsCollate weekly stock takesPlacement of kitchen, bar, amenities and chemicals ordersOversee receipt of and check that food and beverage orders are correct and properly storedCost and design all menusEnsure all POS recipes are correct.Ensure that all orders, delivery notes and invoices are accurately and timeously capturedStrive to minimise wastage, reduce food costs and maximise marginWeekly report backs to directors regarding sales results and productivity.Forecast, plan and manage all F&B orders, staff and finances.Work to budgetFront of house
Respond promptly to social media and other reviewsPlace and manage booking through reservation systemFollow closing and opening proceduresHandle and keep records of all functions bookingsParticipate as Manager on duty as shifts requireParticipate and input towards F&B marketing activitiesFunctions and banqueting
Prepare client quotes based on menu costingManage Kitchen assistants roster and performanceArrange pay for waitrons/kitchen assistantsLimit wastage and curtail wasted costsEnsure that food is well presented incl. buffetIn addition:
