Group Remuneration & Benefits Specialist - Gauteng, RosebankReports to: Lead Compensation & BenefitsROLE OVERVIEW:The role is at a tactical level and is a key member of the Human Resources team. The role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organization's compensation and benefits programs. This role requires a strong compliance-driven approach, ensuring all programs are competitive, equitable, and aligned with both market standards and the company's strategic goals. The role is responsible for job structuring, job profiling, job evaluation, market benchmarking, and position benchmarking, with a focus on maintaining regulatory compliance and promoting fair pay principles. The role drives critical rewards processes that are aligned to a performance-driven culture. The role is also responsible for regular market benchmarks and the optimization of compensation and benefits structures and programs across the organization, ensuring they are competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with our strategic goals. Responsible for analysing compensation data to highlight risks, non-compliance gaps and inform policy change requirements. Drive and cultivate strong benefits administration processes through vendors and site HR professionals.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Global Remuneration / Benefits Practitioner QualificationEXPERIENCE:Minimum 5 years Employee Benefits and Remuneration experienceMinimum 3 years general HR experienceKnowledge and understanding of applicable local laws pertaining to benefitsKnowledge and understanding of payroll and systemsSAP HCM & Success factorsSPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel with emphasis on Power Pivots and any other analytical toolsExceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to maintain sensitive, confidential information and exercise discretion and sound judgementExcellent organisational skills and attention to detailAbility to function independentlyAnalytical abilityStrong co-ordinationStrong Communication and follow-up skillsStrong Problem-solving abilityKnowledge of relevant legislation of benefitsKnowledge of JSE Requirements and integrated reportingKnowledge of King IV fair remuneration practicesKEY OUTPUTS:Present, document, administer and apply policies, procedures, practices and programs resulting in consistent and repeatable application of Paterson evaluation methodology, grading and techniques to establish equitable compensation rates within the organizationConduct surveys and study labour markets across the industry to determine market trends.Design, implement, and manage compensation and benefit programsConduct analysis of compensation and benefits within the companyPrepare occupational classifications, job descriptions and salary scaleOversee competitive analysis, merit increases and salary structureAnalyze surveys to ensure appropriate compensation across all departmentsEducate, mentor and train HR staff on processes and best practicesCompile forecast budget for salary increasesCompile forecast and provisions for Short Term Incentives & Long Term Incentive ProgramsRegularly reconcile and administer Long Term IncentivesConsult with internal business partners to assess benefits, compensation and compliance needsOversee day to day retirement fund activitiesParticipate in the Retirement Fund Board and act as nominated Employer TrusteeAdvise on salary increase requests supported with robust market benchmark and internal equity evaluationsConduct Job Evaluations and support committee activitiesResearch job and worker requirements, structural and functional relationships amongst jobs and occupations and occupational trendsAdvise managers and employees on employment regulations, benefits and compensation policiesManage the annual salary review process and incentives calculationsPerform and participate in remuneration and benefits surveyPrepare and drive annual salary increase cycle and supporting processes with businessPrepare and drive annual STI cycle and supporting processes with businessValidate remuneration and/or benefit increase proposals received from managers.Administer share allocationsAdminister the commission cycle and process (for sales consultants).Ensure compliance with Industry and Regulatory BodiesProvide administrative support for the administration of various employee benefit plans and programsCoordination of yearly annual enrolment for all benefits.Update benefits information and deductions with regards to payroll, ensuring that information and deductions are accurate and implemented in a timely fashionReceive and respond to inquiries from employees, as well as other stakeholdersRetain current, accurate, organised and accessible records;Run reports and review to ensure accuracy of informationPrepare board notes in preparation of company Retirement Fund Board meetingsSupport requirements to be submitted to Rewards and Talent Committee (Subcommittee of the Board)Ensure all forms from various benefit providers are updated and current;Implement best practice administrative processes and train all relevant HR staffDraft and issue correspondence to staff regarding changes / updates to all benefitsAttend meetings to keep current and informed of various benefit changes during the plan year;Assists in the development of policies and procedures concerning employee benefit plansEnsures preparedness for internal audits and other program compliance requirementsServe on various benefits related project teamsWorks with internal contacts such as Trustees and Payroll to ensure efficiencies and issue resolutionProvide updates to Head Group Remuneration & Benefits on issues requiring additional support or interventionReview all new hire benefit elections and review any supporting documentation provided for dependent eligibility and evidence of insurability requirementsDocument and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefit processesAnnual Benefit Statements checked and distributed annually
