Job DescriptionA leading national packaging company is seeking a meticulous finance professional for its Cape Town office. This role involves managing financial responsibilities across various legal entities, including payment releases, VAT returns, cash management and preparation for year-end audits.The candidate will also review monthly accounts, financial statements and budgets, while assisting with group consolidated budgets, audits and BEE compliance. The role requires maintaining effective financial controls and contributing to the finance team's daily operations and performance. This is a 6-month maternity cover, starting no later than 1 September 2024, preferably sooner.Responsibilities:Releasing of bank paymentsPreparing VAT returns for specific entitiesPrepare for year-end audit for specific entitiesPreparing of cash management daily bank balance sheetPreparing of the weekly stats for ExecutivesPreparing cash management interest calculationPreparing the motor vehicle insurance renewal calculationReview monthly accounts and investigate variances to budgetReviewing monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accountsReview annual financial statements of specific entitiesReviewing of budgets for specific entitiesAssist with preparing of group consolidated budgetsAssist with the preparing of group consolidated audit resultsAssist with preparing monthly group management accountsCompiling information of the Corporate Social Investments for BEE purposesAssist with preparing the Dividend, Provisional and final tax returnsAssist with managing bank accounts with Standard BankAssist with the preparation of BEE reviews and auditsAssist with PPG insurance renewal calculationsAssist with maintaining company secretarial documentsAssist with statutory submissions e.g. CIPC returnsMaintaining effective financial controlsContribution to the daily functioning of the finance team and its performanceAssisting the Financial Executive with ad-hoc assignmentsRequirementsAccounting degree or equivalent with minimum 5 years' experienceConfident and independent individual who is a fast learnerBeing a team playerAbility to use own initiative and work with minimum supervisionAble to work flexible working hours (overtime when/if needed)Able to work under pressure in order to meet strict deadlinesA strong entrepreneurial abilityAn ability to think logicallyBe assertive and forthrightBe enthusiastic, positive and self-energisedHave strong relationship building skillsBe highly computer literate (Excel) #J-18808-Ljbffr
