Group Director: Operational Risk

A leading bank in Kenya is looking for a highly skilled Group Director of Operational Risk to spearhead the implementation of its Group Operational Risk Framework.In this senior role, reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer, you will play a pivotal part in identifying, assessing, managing, and monitoring operational risks, with a key focus on scenario analysis, risk appetite, and capital assessment. Key Responsibilities: Lead the implementation of the Operational Risk Framework across the bank.Manage a high-performing team, providing expert insights to the Risk Management Committee.Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure effective risk management strategies.Develop and maintain clear, actionable performance dashboards to monitor risk levels. Key Requirements: A minimum of 10 years in Operational Risk Management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.A relevant university degree and professional qualifications in operational risk.Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders.
